Kehl, Germany – Prinovis Liverpool has invested in Dalim Software technology to provide a highly automated prepress system for the new £120m gravure plant in the UK that starts production next year.

Supplied by exclusive UK distributor Turning Point Technologies, the system comprises 12 DALiM TWiST automated workflow software servers, with DALiM MiSTRAL providing innovative web-based production management and DALiM DiALOGUE enabling powerful soft proofing capabilities for customers.  

Prinovis Nuremberg in Germany has been using Dalim Software solutions to drive production for several years and the success of this operation was instrumental in the company’s selection for the new UK facility that will produce high-quality, high-volume colour publications including magazines, direct mail and home shopping catalogues.

This is a significant order for Dalim Software, an established leader in the design and development of powerful software for the prepress, print, packaging, advertising and publishing industries. “Prinovis Liverpool needs a highly-automated prepress workflow system that can support the performance demands of high-volume gravure printing and easily adapted to suit specific and growing production demands, while providing a high-level of browser-based soft-proofing and management,” says Dr. Carol Werlé, CEO of Dalim Software. “We couldn’t ask for a better endorsement for our production technologies.”
 
Central to the Liverpool operation will be the powerful DALiM TWiST workflow to automatically convert customers’ data into the TIFF file format used to engrave gravure cylinders feeding 4.32m-wide KBA TR128 gravure presses at the plant. DALiM MiSTRAL will provide the online interface for production tracking, administration, correction, approval and printing. It gives Prinovis Liverpool managers and customers a single, common electronic interface to obtain information on the development of any project in real time and from any onsite and remote location. JDF compliance is a central component to DALiM MiSTRAL, allowing tasks such as advanced job ticketing, imposition, and preflighting.

To allow customers to view job status and to post comments and request corrections online DALiM DiALOGUE provides on-line service for remote and collaborative viewing and soft proofing of high-res files via the Internet in real time. Users can view, zoom in/out, navigate, place annotations, take densitometer readings and check production parameters.
